Our Story and Mission
Kevin Weaver is a native of De Soto, Missouri. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1985 to 1993. A helicopter mechanic in the famed 1st Cavalry Division's 228 Attack Helicopter Battalion as it transitioned from the AH-IS Cobra to the AH-64A Apache helicopter, he was assigned to maintain the helicopter's weapons system including an all-new state of the art camera system that could see through the darkest night (TADS - PNVS).
In 1993, he was honorably discharged and then joined the St. Louis Metro Police Department as a patrolman and eventually an academy instructor. During this time, home security became an issue as violent crime was beginning to rise. The prospect of obtaining low cost, high performing video surveillance was not yet on the horizon.
In 1999, Kevin left the department and would go on to join the telecommunications / cable TV industry as a project manager. While leading various projects, he helped to spearhead the introduction of high speed internet to America.
Today, UTILIXCO has combined high speed internet with night vision, high resolution video to offer awesome surveillance to the market.
